As the founding member of Blue Ocean Strategic Capital, LLC, Ted oversees all aspects of the company’s operations, including the investment committee’s management of portfolio assets.  In addition to working directly with clients, Ted contributes his expertise to industry-related publications and speaking engagements across the country.

He has written articles for the Journal of Accountancy, the CPA Journal, the Journal of Taxation and the AICPA Wealth Management Insider. Ted has lectured at Syracuse University and has been interviewed by publications such as Practical Accountant, Accounting Today, Kiplinger Personal Finance Report, Investment News, the Christian Science Monitor and Consumer Reports on 401(k) plans, marketing strategies within CPA firms, disaster recovery, Medicare, Elder Abuse and many more subjects. Radio stations from all over the country have interviewed Ted on topics ranging from year-end tax tips to Social Security and Medicare to the bankruptcy bill.  For the past two years he has been a featured planner on Syracuse’s NBC affiliate, WSTM-3, taking viewers’ calls regarding financial planning and investment topics and offering planning concepts to the viewers on the nightly news program.

Ted is also an appointed member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Virtual Grassroots Panel, Social Security Task Force, and Planner Magazine Editorial Advisory Board. Ted serves as Chair of the AICPA Eldercare/PrimePlus Taskforce and is a liaison to the AICPA PFP Executive Committee.

Ted is past president of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Syracuse Chapter.  In 2002, Ted completed a two-year term as Chairperson of the NYSSCPA Personal Financial Planning Committee after serving as a member of that committee for nine years. He is a former member of both the NYSSCPA Tax Division Oversight Committee and its Professional Ethics Committee.
